Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

I have been to this Nicola 5 or 6 times. The service is often slow, yet the wait staff usually seems rushed no matter how many customers are in the restaurant. The food is ok. The "Famous Nic-o-Boli" is my go-to meal, and I often have leftovers. The prices are about what you would expect. Bottom line: You will get decent food here, but you can do better at other local restaurants.

My boyfriend spent many summers in Rehoboth growing up, and whenever we return for a weekend he picks Nicola's for dinner. I've more or less enjoyed whatever food I've gotten here, but have yet to be really impressed by either food or service. It definitely gets busy, but I've never been there when it's packed. Still, service tends to be slow and even simple orders seem to take a while. I've have a "boli", which was very heavy on cheese, and a mini personal pizza, which seemed quite the opposite. Overall, ok for a quick meal, but not a spot I'd put on the must-visit list.

This should never be your first choice for food; it should be your fallback, your safety, your last resort. Everyone is pleasant but the pizza is mediocre at best, their spaghetti is bland and they sell calzones known as Nicabolis that are just small enough to leave you wanting more but filling enough that you are not eating light this night. They have an unlimited supply of bumper stickers at the check out and there are plentiful booths if you are with kids and want to eat in.

The service was rude, hostess AND waitress.... the food took a long time to come out even though the restaurant was not crowded and the pizza was substandard. Also the floor needed to be swept.

Not what it used to be..... Not hand tossed anymore. Very slow to refill drinks Very slow to get order to table Avoid this place. I used to live in the area but moved away. I came back thinking of how good nicola WAS, yes was. Not anymore. Stay away...

Not good. Not even close. The warning sign should have been the staff scraping debris off the table from previous diners into a large garbage can as we were being seated. A salad in a restaurant served with a packet of Kraft dressing. Really? The pizza? I've had better frozen pizza. We sat upstairs in the "sports bar." Fortunately, the multiple games on TV helped divert our attention from the food. It was a Thursday night and Rehoboth Ave. was jumping. This place was nearly empty. Why didn't we see this coming?

Long line but we got in and we were immediately taken care of. Owner walked by to check on each table. We were very happy with our food. House salad was ginormous !

This place has too much high volume to be perfection every time, but I've always had good food here that hits above its price point. Also notice how they didn't franchise it out (which they easily could have); they wanted to make sure the food stayed at a certain level and that means direct oversight by the owners. Highly recommended for something affordable, easy, and tasty

It is absolutely unacceptable and ILLEGAL to refuse service to a child in a wheelchair - note stupid owners that it is NOT a stroller! To keep it about your product as well - your pizza is pretty inferior and the wait staff was not friendly. I really cannot understand the draw to your establishment.

my review updated as to not be stricken down by yelp and anonymous flaggers: *cough*cough* Nicola *cough* A very good friend told me that I must visit Nicola Pizza while I was vacationing in Rehoboth Beach this past summer, so I took my family to Nicola Pizza for lunch. He is no longer my friend. ===================== review amended--- He is no longer my friend for the following reasons: * the "pizza" tasted like cardboard covered in low grade tomato sauce. * if a nine year old refuses to eat your chicken tenders, it means that your chicken tenders are horrible. as in, rats-would-not-eat-this horrible. * it took over an hour for us to get our food. the restaurant was 3/4 empty. * no acknowledgement (let alone an apology) was given by the staff about the length of time it for our meal to arrive at our table. so, if you choose to eat lunch at Nicola Pizza On the Avenue while vacationing at Rehoboth Beach, I have two words for you ~ caveat emptor.

Had my first "nic-o-bolo" experience. I've had great calzones and Strombolis in my day so that's what I'm using as a comparison. The nicoboli was tasty but I was not impressed width quality or freshness of the ingredients. I got the everything so maybe it was just too much. Next time I'll get a simple beef only one. Service was fine and it's a relatively cheap eat at the beach.

I don't want to be mean but this was kind of a weird experience. Our service was good initially. We both ordered a salad and they are huge with too much cheese and it is served on a tiny plate so you can't toss it. We also ordered a pizza. They don't have green peppers so we opted for the sweet peppers and onions and the pizza was ok. They had a bloody mary on special, made with jalapeno infused vodka. I had one sip, couldn't believe how awful it was and had another, thinking I could choke it down but I just couldn't. I was looking around for our server because I was thirsty now that I couldn't drink the awful bloody mary and she was outside vaping. That's no big deal but she never came back! One lady walked by quickly and asked my husband if he wanted another beer but didn't ask me since I still had the full bloody mary sitting there. I was able to get a draft beer at the bar; wasn't risking another mixed drink. I don't know whether our server got off work or quit or what but eventually another one casually adopted us. I didn't have to ask them to take off that bloody mary so that was good. I don't know if regulars get better service because it looked like most of the people in there knew each other. The pizza was just ok so we won't be going back.
